Here is a transcript of the video:

Welcome to our series where we highlight creators in the field of upcycling and slow fashion.

Today's reel is focused on Brianne from Willowflower Design.

Brianne grew up and still lives in Brampton Ontario (very close to Toronto).

She started upcycling after I seeing all kinds of amazing fabrics in the thrift stores that nobody was buying & knew they were going to end up in the landfill. Plus she couldn't ignore the cost savings of second hand fabric. It all just started making sense.

She started making clothes for herself using thrifted fabric about a year ago. and just launched Willowflower on May 15th 2024.

She wants people to know that she has a love of creating and it has really helped her get through some hard times. She has a benign brain tumor and also was bedridden with a separate illness for years. She's so much better now, and using her newfound health to do something worthwhile. She loves seeing these fabrics get a new lease on life, and seeing people enjoy her creations. It's very fulfilling.

She is a size inclusive creator that carries XXS to 6X but happy to create custom sizing.

Brianne looks for the following fabrics when she's on the hunt: embroidered tablecloths, lace tablecloths, and saris. Of course she really appreciates the joy of finding something unwanted and giving it a new purpose. If you have a second-hand/thrifted fabric business and come across these frequently, please reach out to her. She'd be happy to hear from you.

Considering we just got our start in February, we are rooting for Willowflower to be a huge success. Please give her acct a follow and she if she can make something you'll really love.
