Today's reel is focused on Mary from Tigby Hill Vintage that she owns & operates with her husband Peter.

Mary grew up in a very Italian Neighborhood in the Bronx, was the youngest of 5 kids and her mother never threw any clothes out. Her mother also made doll clothes from the fabric of the clothes she saved.

Mary referred to herself as a strange little kid who spent her time picking up trash and hand sewing little outfits for my dollhouse dress shop, which still exists to this day. She even designed her "real life" store to look just like it.

Crazy to think she was already manifesting her future without realizing it.

Mary absolutely hates fast fashion and all the crappy fabric. I use only 100% cotton in my designs, 98% of all the patches and fabrics used in her projects are vintage.

She LOVES hunting for those vintage pieces.

As a kid, Pippi Longstocking was her favorite character & it shows up in her design and aesthetic.
